Common questions about getting a hair loss prescription online.
Is this a legitimate service?
Yes. Our healthcare providers are licensed in their respective provinces and use the same criteria as traditional clinics to qualify or disqualify patients for prescriptions.
Our clinic is also certified by LegitScript, which is a company that certifies online clinics in Canada and the US. This can be verified on LegitScript’s website.
Telemedicine is a recognized and rising form of providing healthcare in Canada. We follow the bylaws and policies of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), CNPS, and each provincial medical college regarding the practice of telemedicine in Canada.
How does it work?
First, you will complete an online questionnaire so we can gather info about your hair loss symptoms and medical history. Our medical team will evaluate your responses within 1 business day and determine if a hair loss treatment is right for you. Depending on your case, our medical team may follow up with more questions before approving a treatment.
As soon as your prescription is approved, it will be immediately sent to your selected pharmacy for pick-up or delivery.
For renewals, you can choose to have your prescription automatically refilled at your pharmacy for $25 every 3 months, or $79/year.
Do you offer medication delivery?
Yes, we work with licensed Canadian pharmacies to offer medication delivery in all the Canadian provinces we serve. Medication is delivered discretely to your home within 1-2 business days. You’ll also have access to talk to the pharmacist anytime by phone.
Keep in mind that payment for medication is separate and payable directly to the pharmacy for both delivery and pick-up options.
How much does it cost?
The cost of an initial visit to evaluate your hair loss and issue a 90 day prescription is $39 CAD. Future renewals are just $25 and are billed automatically every 3 months. You can cancel anytime.
We also offer a 1 year prescription option for $79/year.
For renewals, your credit card will be charged 2 weeks before the end of each period so that you have ample time to pick up your medication at the pharmacy.
The cost of the medication is not included and is payable at the pharmacy.
Do you cover my province/territory?
Our service is available in all provinces and territories of Canada except PEI.
How is this different from a regular visit?
Who are your doctors and where are they located?
In addition to physicians, our team also includes highly trained Nurse Practitioners who are also licensed in their respective provinces and have the full authority to provide the scope of our services.
Who has used your service?
Men across Canada have used our service to conveniently and discretely get hair loss prescriptions.
Is this service available in the US?
Is this service available to non-Canadian travellers visiting Canada?
Yes, we can prescribe to visitors in Canada. Additional identity verification may be required.
Do you prescribe to females?
No, female hair loss has multiple causes and telemedicine is too limited to assess the ultimate cause of hair loss in females. We recommend females to visit a family physician in-person for a full assessment to diagnose the underlying cause of hair loss and the best treatment for it.
Am I guaranteed a prescription with your service?
Does the consult cost include price of prescription?
No. Prescription pricing is set by the pharmacies and payable on prescription pick up. Your price also depends on any drug insurance coverage you may have.
How much will the medication cost at the pharmacy?
Finasteride 1mg ranges between $40-$50/month, or $10-$20/month if you quarter 5mg tablets.
Dutasteride ranges between $15-$20/month.
How do prescription renewals work?
If you go with the $39 initial consult plan, you can choose to have your prescription automatically refilled at your pharmacy for $25 every 3 months.
If you go with the $79 initial consult plan, you can choose to have your prescription refilled for $79 every year.
During this time period, you’ll also have ongoing care by our medical team if you have any questions or concerns about your hair loss.
If you don’t want to sign up for auto-refills, just contact us again whenever you need a refill.
How long does it take to get the prescription?
If your prescription is approved, it will be ready for pick up at your selected pharmacy within 1 business day of completing the online hair loss assessment.
